It is by far my favorite thing about the C5. (It might also be a "look at that moron" stare)

They could be noticing the rear-suspension failing again, haha.

I do from anyone fairly young.
The car isn't exactly discreet, but only old people remember Oldsmobile and they still confuse it for a Pontiac.

I got it a bit back when I had a VW Caddy pickup. Not common in the US at all. I'm also expecting or even outright planning for it with my project car:

Or I forgot the suspension in the "high position". Again.

I often get the "that is definitely a homosexual man" stare/ people actually shouting gay at me. Especially driving around with a friend in the front seat.

Haha, nice. Mine has the same feature.

I bet it makes a damn good noise.

Why?

MAKE IT SO!

Because a small brightly coloured car=gay apparently. You'd be surprised how many times people have shouted stuff like that at me.

I'm working in a height adjust, too, and taillights from a car that was hardly ever sold in the US, and changing up the look with different bumpers. The bafflement may well be over 9000.

That's downright stupid. Both using gay as a derogatory term and making assumptions like that.

Falc!
And look - I can comment again.

I get them in my FR-S occasionally just because they're pretty rare. At least around me. Northeast US is evidently full of a bunch of sissies who are afraid to drive RWD in the winter.
I get the typical "That's a lambo Porsh, dude"
Pffffft. I wish.

There are plenty of idiots around where I live so it doesn't surprise nor bother me. The average IQ in some areas of town must rest in single figures.

I'm banking on it messing with the minds of people who know what it is almost as much as people who don't.

True duals and two tiny 8" glasspacks turned backwards—pretty close to sounding like it is straight piped.
I would take a video for people to see, but my mic in phone isn't good enough. It echoes off of buildings in cities lol

Hell, I get that regarding my face.

Definitely got stares with the pink Mercury, but probably just because of the color. Border patrol always asks if my Jeep is really mine, too, but that's more of a WTF stare.

I was happy to get it once when a guy asked..."what exactly is THAT? I know it looks like a Focus but it doesn't look like one I've ever seen."
Will never happen again.
To be fair, mine was the only one in the area. Can't wait to have something actually interesting when I can afford to.

A buddy of mine had the sedan - the paint was faded, the radio was AM, and the O and the N had fallen off the back, hence the name. You could see the road through parts of the floor.

Yes, in the leaf. For the high school swim team we have pasta parts before meets. My mom wa sticking me up in the Leaf, all the other kids stared at it as we drove away.

I get stares a lot when I'm driving my dads Silverado because lifted blue beast with loud mud tires.
I've caught a couple stares in the M3 so far. I'm guessing because there aren't many BMWs around where I live, especially E36s. I think my girlfriends dad and I are the only two in the area.

My floor was like that, only replace "parts" with "most". I've also got the AM basic version radio (no mechanical preset buttons), and the second paint job was mostly removed in prep for a third that never came. The original green paint wasn't a Ford standard code (paint code on my data plate is blank), because it was a special order fleet one.

I recall that Don's radio had presets because it looked like a set of old dentures. Automatic, vinyl/cloth seats (turquoise, ish). Paint was dark green. Can't remember if it had power steering.

The '62-'63 had white preset buttons on the deluxe radio, so it was probably one of those. Both '63 and '62 have F A L C O N letters on the back (unless they're a Futura), so that doesn't pin it down any more. I don't think the '62 ever had power steering, but the '63 might have mid-year in the V8. I think Don's was probably just an ordinary '62 or '63 Deluxe.

It sure did not feel like a V8 - inline six for sure.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:23 |

It had the 170 six as an option, but I don't think the deluxe included that automatically. I think the two-speed auto was also a big power leech, so not the best power at the wheels for sure.

All the time! And then there are the folks who want to sound intelligent afterwards and say, "Isn't that the one with the V-12?" Doh...

you probably get it a bit , when you're stranded by the roadside
;)
